引言

《佛说四十二章经》是在公元68年，东汉年间从印度传到中国的第一部重要佛教经典。这部经是在佛陀涅槃后由祂的弟子总结了佛陀一生所作的重要开示，综合佛一生所说的大小乘全部佛法。《佛说四十二章经》集结了佛陀关于持戒、忍辱、断欲、精进、观空等事的四十二段语录，反复强调了持戒的重要性，告诉佛教弟子应该如何修行。

Introduction

The Sutra of Forty-two Chapters was the first Buddhist sutra brought to China in 68 A.D from India during the Eastern Han Dynasty. It represents a collection of all the Buddha’s remarkable teachings as were delivered during his lifetime, and was compiled by the disciples after Buddha’s nirvana. The Sutra contains 42 quotations of Buddha’s teaching of both the Mahayana and the Hinayana, covering areas of discipline, patience, severance of desires, diligence and co
